Umbrella Project

The Umbrella Project embraces the rain and the darkness of winter by illuminating and transforming Downtown Eugene with an ever-changing display of live, time-based art. The Kid’s Night asks, how can we create light and shelter in the darkest time of year, in space that is often thought of as ‘unsafe’ for children.

Participating families designed their umbrellas and passed out bags with lights, chocolates, and kind notes to all they passed by. The Umbrella Project is presented by ArtCity Eugene and Cultural Services of the City of Eugene. Kid’s Night was created by Willow Jade Norton.
